In the realm of country music singer - songwriters of today, Scott Hampton  would have to be described as a  "modern" traditional country artist.  His unique and sincere vocals are a combination of Vince Gill and George Strait, and will have you longing for another verse and not wanting to leave the dance floor.  His original songs reflect his country upbringing and love of family, combined with the realities of life.  Scott is a great storyteller - something he inherited from his grandad - and his original songs will have you laughing at the 'real' stories of his youth, crying over the tragedies of life, and encouraged in the hope of the future. 

Scott grew up in the hay fields and on the back roads of small town East Texas, with deep roots in gospel and country music.  Like many in the music industry, Scott's introduction to music came from his musical family and was developed singing in church.  In the 50's and 60's, his grandparents were regular performers on the radio music shows across the south, singing a blend of gospel and bluegrass music.  When Scott and his sister were old enough, they began traveling with their grandparents to weekend singing events and music conventions.  Scott was inspired by his family's love of music, and it was there that he fell in love with music and it's power to inspire and encourage, and began performing with his family as a youngster.

Besides family, Scott's earliest influence were the radio voices of George Jones, Glen Campbell, Merle Haggard, Gene Watson and others.  As he grew up,  he was influenced  by the music of the Eagles, Journey and others, but he found his true vocal niche as a teenager the first time he heard George Strait. 

Scott was the 2016 winner of the John Ritter Showcase at the  Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, and served at the 2017 Ambassador of the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame.  He has written numerous songs and competed in the Nashville Rising Star songwriter contest.  When you hear Scott today, you will hear a pure and soulful country sound that reflects the original great country music with a blend of new and exciting songs of today.  His shows are fun and energetic and include cover songs from the 70"s through today's current country hits, with some blues and vintage rock mixed in.  Bring your dancing boots and be ready to have a good time!  You won't be disappointed!
